On this May Day...

I sent the below message in response to a bulletin that a girl that my brother use to date posted. I would just like to share since this is the sentiment of many Americans who feed off of Fox News and ignorance. It makes my heart break when citizens just spurt out phrases that some old boy squwaked to them years back.... My reply is up top. Keep on fighting!

I'd just like you to know that free health care as well as the above mentioned happens in many other countries other than the United States. For example; Canada, Germany, the UK, and most of the European Union. Free heath care does not occur in mass within the US. We have one of the worst education systems in the world, and our higher education system is more expensive than most can handle. The average student now leaves with upwards of 20k in debt. In Germany they provide free high education to all who seek it for free (unless you are there on exchange and being credited through a US school). Those students you speak of know very well why they are in this country and why they were marching, they were not just skipping class. I have several friends who teach and spoke at length with their students on the subject. Most of these students left knowing that they would face severe punishment. Remember that car dealership you worked at? WHO WASHED YOUR CARS? Would you be caught dead doing something as heinous (sarcasm) as washing a car? Would you mow your own lawn, bag your own groceries, work in manual labor? These folks leave Mexico to support their families, their loved ones. There is hardly any kind of work in Mexico that resembles what we have here up North a little ways. They are not here to steal your job or burden you. They are here to earn money so that their children can have a better life. They are not the ones driving the wages down, the corporations and businesses who hire them are the ones setting the wage standard. If you want to protest anybody protest the cooperation's who take advantage of these folks. If we allowed them amnesty or work visas, they would be able to be tax payers to contribute to the pot. We do not allow them to be as such. They are humans just like you and I who just want to work hard for a better life. They clean up our cars, homes, and care for our children, yet many people see them unfit to be Americans. They embody the spirit of what this country is supposed to be about. Why are we fucking here to begin with? Or do we all want to keep overlook the genocide that our "founding fathers" committed on the Native Americans. We ourselves are sitting on STOLEN land. As far as being bilingual, would you like to learn the Chumash language since you live in Westlake which is in fact Chumash land. You are the product of immigrants, did your grandmothers, or great grandfathers know English when they arrived? I am only the second generation born in this country, my family is still relatively new here. The Irish we the hated immigrants less than a century ago, a number of them came here illegally. Do you still want them to leave? Why don't we all just leave?

Your post has deeply hurt me because it is written (or copied and pasted) in such a short sited fashion. You probably call yourself a Republican as well because you like to "keep your money." That is also a short sited notion since only the top 1% of the US population and corporations benefit from said "money keeping" tax breaks. I make enough money to stay afloat, but I give what I can to those in need. I go broke if I know somebody that I care about needs a buck. I give my time to whomever asks or needs it. I am a human being who wants to see amnesty for all who seek it, free healthcare, better education, free higher education, and better public transportation. I want to see the alternative fuel and energy that we already have available be put to use. I want to see the war end and for the troops come home. I want to see the troops get the benefits and money that they are promised, but don't seem to get all of the time. To be so short sighted and place misplaced information and rage on these immigrants is just plain ignorant and sad. Worry about what yourself and our children will see within their lifetimes instead of trying to oppress the innocent. Its scary. I live very close to Downtown Los Angeles and love it. I live side by side with the people you look down upon. Humble yourself and think about the facts. When you practice hate you're only putting that hate back onto yourself. Think about that next time you want to "Send 'em on home."

Immigration.....
Current mood: Bored @ Work!!!!

The hard truth...More than 36, 000 students from throughout Los Angeles County, California skipped classes and marched through streets and on various freeways Monday, March 27, 2006, to protest an immigration bill being debated in Congress. "We may be illegal immigrants, but we are human, " Metropolitan High School senior Melania Preciado said as she waved a Mexican flag. "We deserve the same rights as everyone else, not be treated like criminals." What an ironic statement.

If we all went to Mexico...would we be treated as humans?? (Think of all your friends who have driven down to Mexico for a weekend trip and were either thrown in jail for looking at the Mexican police the wrong way, or were pulled over for no apparent reason and FORCED to pay off the Mexican police in order NOT to be thrown in jail)...

1. Try driving around as a Gringo in Mexico with no

liability insurance, and have an accident.

2. Enter MEXICO illegally - never mind immigration quotas,

visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

3. Once there, demand that the local government provide

free medical care for you and your entire family.

4. Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

5. Demand free bilingual local government forms,

bulletins, etc.

6. Speak only English at home and in public and insist

that your children do likewise.

7. Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican

school system.

8. Demand a local Mexican drivers license. This will

afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your

unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

9. Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English

to all its officers.

Good luck!

It will not happen in Mexico nor any other country

in the world...except right here in the United States...

Land of those who want to take care of everyone,

except American Citizens!

These "student" protesters, haven't the slightest clue as to what the hell is really going on. They just want an excuse to leave school. What a disgrace to AMERICA, our country!

If you're going to waive a Mexican flag to support your heritage, fine... Just make sure there is an American one next to it...the land that gives to all of its immigrants, and you. IF Mexico is SOOOOO great - Why leave it and come to America? Think about it! Mexico isn't giving their people what they deserve, and that's why they want to be here in America. What is Mexico really doing for its people, other than making them desparate to leave? This is not about people coming to America...just come legally, so the legal system, education, medical, housing, etc., can operate more smoothly and fair for those who are citizens, and those who long to be.

If you agree, pass it on.

If you don't, Please....go ahead and try all the

above in Mexico (and enjoy the prison there too...).
